Personality & Traits

General Overview

Greg is a battletested combat veteran having seen action across the length of the Federation. In his earlier days he has seen and done almost everything a Marine Officer could do, and it shows in his ability to keep his cool even when everything seems to be following apart around him. Only a handful of close friends see a softer side to him. The small items he picks up for his niece back on Earth from the breadth of the quadrant, sometimes from even outside the Federations borders.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strength: Greg is a combat veteran and does not loose his cool when everything hits the fan. Weakness: Greg prefers the company of other Marines to Starfleet personal, still holding a slight grudge at being abandoned on numerous planet's during the War.

Greg wants to see how far he can climb the Marine ranks, and wouldn't mind seeing if he can't find someone to settle down with one day.

Hobbies & Interests

Greg still enjoys hikes and rock climbing in the holodeck but has recently come to even more enjoy a game of poker

Personal History

Greg was the oldest son of Rodney and Regina McKeon, born in the Shenandoah Valley on Earth. His father ran a highly successful business assembling and selling handmade real wooden furniture, while his mother taught basic science at the grade school. Growing up surrounded by the woods and mountains Greg spent much of his childhood roaming around nature, his grades on the lower end of average, despite high scores on aptitude tests. Encountering a group of Starfleet cadets on one of his hikes he began to wonder if he would be content to simple take over his father's business with his younger sister. Taking the time to think things over he begun to apply himself starting in high school raising from one of the poorer students to second in his class and passing the entrance exams to Starfleet Academy.

Service Record

Greg attended the Academy with the interest of becoming a Security Officer, before switching tracks and joining the Marine program showing a real aptitude for combat operations. On his cadet cruise he took part in a number of simulated combat landings with one of the Federations top Assault units against both Starfleet Security and other Marine opfour forces. He graduated in the top 10% of his Starfleet class, and received his first posting to the Second Marine Division along the Romulan border. His first action was along the Romulan DMZ where he was engaged in a small border skirmish with Romulans. He was assigned the prestige duty as an embassy guard, travelling to a number of different founding worlds. Asking to receive a posting back to a combat unit he was sent to the Klingon border as a member of the 4th Marine Assault Regiment and saw heavy fighting during the Klingon invasion. It was during this action that the unit he was posted with was left without Starfleet support and subjected to heavy orbital interdiction. Promoted to fill holes in the units order of battle, his unit was sent to a peaceful safe world to reorganize after the fighting. They ended up in the middle of the Dominion invasion route with 75% of the unit being destroyed, and survivors intermixed with other devastated units and thrown back into the battle to slow down the Dominion juggernaut. Given a battlefield promotion Greg fought his way through the Dominion War and would have been one of the first Federation troops to be deployed to Cardassia if the war had not ended. After the war he was assigned to a training facility to pass on hard won knowledge to fresh recruits. A posting at the Starfleet Academy followed as an instructor for Marine cadets. He asked for a forward posting and was granted a shipboard assignment for the first time in his career.
